Senior Applied Scientist, Healthcare and Life Science Services
Amazon is looking for world class senior applied scientist to join the AWS Healthcare and Life Science Services team to work on state of the art implementations of biomolecule design workflows. This role is entrusted with developing core machine learning algorithms for AWS customers, to be included in future AWS products. On the AWS Healthcare and Life Science Services Team you will invent, implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning algorithms and systems. You will build prototypes and explore conceptually large scale ML solutions for biomolecule design across different computation platforms. You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic community. You will be at the heart of a growing and exciting focus area for AWS and work with other acclaimed engineers and world famous scientists.The Healthcare and Life Science Services team is a part of the AWS Solutions organization. You will work closely with a team of other Applied Scientists and Solutions Architects to ensure the algorithms and workflows meet out customers scientific and business objectives. Your role will also involve working with AWS service teams, to promote the delivery of AI-powered solutions in the field of biomolecule design.A day in the lifeYou will work with customer scientists, academics, AWS product managers, other AWS scientists, and AWS software development engineers to help customers operate the best solution for AI driven biomolecule design on AWS. Our team affords employees options to work in the office every day or in a flexible, hybrid work model near one of our U.S. Amazon offices.- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning- Experience building and tuning AI powered molecular design workflows, and an up-to-date knowlege of current Biological Foundation Models (both commercial and open sources) available to customers.- 5+ years of applied research experience- Experience in building speech recognition, machine translation and natural language processing systems (e.g., commercial speech products or government speech projects)- Experience with large scale machine learning systems such as profiling and debugging and understanding of system performance and scalability- Experience fine tuning bioFMs with real world measurements from an iterative, closed loop workflow.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market.
