Machine Learning Engineer

Amazon Games is seeking a highly effective Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the implementation of innovative Machine Learning (ML), Reinforcement Learning (RL), and Generative AI techniques for game development applications. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our AI/ML science advancements and practical game development, creating reusable engine components and middleware. Our highly skilled, multi-discipline team works across Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Generative AI to reimagine game development. We work closely with first-party game developers and partner studios to bring creative visions to life. Our mission is to use AI responsibly to transform gameplay experiences, enrich narratives, and provide creators with practical tools to optimize their production pipelines.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field- 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in game development- Proficiency in C++ and experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary)- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience in designing and developing reusable software components and APIs- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field- Experience working with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and integrating them into game engines- Experience with designing and deploying services and products that leverage generative AI models- Experience with cloud-based AI services and their integration into game systems- Familiarity with GPU programming and optimization techniques for AI in games- Solid understanding of computer graphics, game physics, and real-time systems- Shipped games that incorporate advanced AI techniques- Contributed to open-source projects or game development tools- Proven track record of leading complex software projects and mentoring junior engineersAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
