Tax Manager, CapEx

Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Direct Tax Reporting group within the Worldwide Capital Expenditures (CapEx) team. The mission of the Tax CapEx Team is to timely, accurately, and efficiently report the US income tax impact of global CapEx to our internal customers. This role works closely with finance, accounting, and technology business partners to ensure all asset leasing transactions are properly reported for US income tax purposes, including Amazon acting in a lessee or lessor capacity. The job candidate will apply advanced knowledge of income tax reporting principles to Amazon’s leased asset holdings—spanning fulfillment network, data center, office, and physical store facilities as well as server and networking equipment, aircraft, and vehicles. This growing leased asset profile currently totals +$100B of gross book cost, requires +$10B of annual lease payments, and includes many unique lease terms, making this a challenging and impactful role for an ambitious candidate. Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Controversy

Amazon’s Tax Controversy team is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to help coordinate and support ongoing domestic and foreign audits, and compliance matters handled by the Tax Department. Responsibilities will include a wide range of tasks, such as investigating and responding to internal and external information requests, preparing financial audit documentation, preparing presentations, coordinating responses for multiple audit requests, scheduling, and assistance as a document custodian. As a part of this role, the candidate will also focus on identifying areas of process improvements to help drive efficiencies. The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete multiple concurrent projects at the same time with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick response; take effective action without always knowing all relevant information; and solve problems that affect people within the group or other related groups.
