In this role, you'll drive data-informed decisions for our Music Merch business. You'll leverage your analytical skills to provide deep insights into performance across various aspects of the business, helping our team scale customer engagement and optimize overall effectiveness. This role offers an exciting opportunity to bridge the gap between data analysis and practical business execution, allowing you to directly influence the success of artist merchandise initiatives.
You will develop new core datasets and interactive dashboards. You will conducting ad-hoc analyses to empower the team to make data-driven decisions. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners, translating complex data into actionable insights that shape our merchandising strategies. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-obsessed individual who thrives in an ambiguous environment and is passionate about the intersection of music, merchandising/retail, and data analytics.
Key job responsibilities
* Create and optimize SQL reporting for key performance indicators and deep-dive metrics
* Build robust ETL pipelines assembling core datasets to create robust source-of-truth for reporting, analysis, and visualization
* Work with technical and business stakeholders in to scope, design, and execute pipelines, reporting, and analysis
* Develop and maintain intuitive, interactive dashboards with advanced features to enable self-service analytics (Tableau, Quicksight, Amplitude, Thoughtspot)
* Analyze and optimize business performance across various metrics, sharing key learnings with the team
* Conduct in-depth data analysis on customer insights for artist merch campaigns and broader business evaluations
* Contribute to the development and execution of data-driven experiments and tests
About the team
The Content Analytics & Strategy (CAST) team is the analytics and data science team within Amazon Music that accelerates and facilitates content analytics to generate valuable insights in a fast, agile, and accurate way. CAST works closely with stakeholders across programming, artist & label relations, public relations, originals, merchandising, fandom experiences, and podcasts to support data-driven decision making.
The team's mission is to empower Amazon Music's content strategy by surfacing impactful insights that help improve the customer experience. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g., ETL, data models, queries)
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Demonstrated experience influencing business decisions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
