Given our scale, it is critical to design tests and/or tools that are future proof, scalable and stable. A SysDE in this position will need to have an understanding of server design and architecture to improve security, telemetry and debugging of hosts in production across ARM and x86. We move fast in AWS and ideal candidates will have a growth mindset, learn fast, deep dive to solve variety of issues, and act quickly to bring timely resolution to our customers. A day in the lifeLead the Hardware Engineering (HWEng) System Development (SysDE) effort to define and build software and enabling tools, according to defined HWEng Software development best practices; Track and report progress. Work across internal HWEng teams, to ensure drive chosen for new storage hardware delivers performance, reliability and operational health needed by the EC2, EBS, and S3 platforms. Work closely with internal customers to identify early any potential problems with on-boarding new storage servers into their ecosystem. Build, manage, and deploy pipelines for rapid deployment of new code changes to a variety of org-owned and customer-owned systems.
