Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist in the management of complex civil and mechanical construction projects. The role is focused on supporting large-scale projects, specifically within wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or lift stations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of verifiable experience in construction project engineering, with a strong understanding of heavy mechanical and civil site improvements. This is a full-time, on-site role with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing all aspects of construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and special provisions.
  • Support the project lifecycle, from planning to execution and completion, ensuring timely delivery within the project schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of project components, including shoring and dewatering construction.
  • Work closely with the project team to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring project compliance.
  • Coordinate and track project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Attend regular project status meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and issues, and assist in solutions.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed on-site, with a focus on health and safety for all personnel.
  • Assist in managing risks and resolving project challenges as they arise.
  • Support the preparation and completion of project documentation, including reports, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a Project Engineer , with a focus on heavy civil and mechanical projects.
  • Experience working on at least one (1) heavy mechanical and civil site improvement at a wastewater treatment plant, pumping station, or lift station project within the last 7 years , with a minimum contract value of $7 million .
  • Exposure to additional wastewater pump/lift station projects with a minimum contract bid value of $3 million is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction that includes shoring and dewatering operations.
  • Strong understanding of contract documents, project specifications, and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) is a plus.
