Job Description

Our fully funded start-up company is seeking a Python Developer. This is a Direct Hire - NO C2C.

This is a Hybrid Role - Must work in Sacramento, CA - 1-2 times per month.

Salary Range: $100-125k Per Year.

Sponsorship is not offered for this role.

Technical Stack: Python and Node.JS - We are looking exclusively for a Backend Developer.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend software solutions for the platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-platform team members to translate ideas and goals into well-defined features and implementations.
  3. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  4. Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices for software development.
  5. Develop and maintain technical documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Stay current with new software engineering techniques and emerging technologies to apply to development.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Skills:

  1. Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) and frameworks (e.g., Node.js).
  2. Experience in backend development and API development (e.g., REST, GraphQL).
  3. Proficiency with modern software development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, Atlassian).
  4. Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including unit testing and CI/CD.
  5. Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
  6. Experience with FDA regulatory requirements (e.g., 510K), and data security/privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is strongly desired.
  7. Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to work independently.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.

Bonus skills:

  1. Experience with medical image processing and algorithm development.
  2. Ability to organize, visualize, and analyze big data to interpret and present insights.
  3. Fundamentals of machine learning and statistical analytics.
  4. Experience with database management and querying (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  5. Experience in an early-stage startup.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.

Additional Notes:

The Software Engineer will join a small development team which provides the opportunity for significant impact and contribution to the platform at this stage of the company. The SW Engineer will work on a wide range of tasks including backend integrations with 3rd party APIs, database architecture and management, and front-end visualizations of cognitive, wearable, biomarker, and other patient data. The SW Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate new ideas and feedback into well-defined features to improve the platform. This role is responsible for taking these features from concept to completion, ensuring their effective implementation, testing, and integration into the platform.
