Company seeking a P.E. with solid waste/civil engineering experience for our Littleton, CO office. Salary commensurate with experience. The position is for a qualified and knowledgeable professional who seeks a challenging work environment, an opportunity to grow, and is a self-starter. In this role, you will participate in civil and environmental engineering projects that involve waste management facility design and permitting, stormwater management, industrial development, sanitary and water works engineering, transportation, and construction management. The position requires periodic travel and fieldwork as dictated by project demands in the Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming area.


Responsibilities:

  1. Development of design for solid waste facilities including landfills, compost facilities, transfer stations, etc.
  2. Perform analysis depending on the project requirements including surface water control design, slope stability analyses, excavation plans, settlement analyses, and construction quality assurance and control plans.
  3. Manage technical support staff, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
  4. Participate in professional organizations to promote the professionalism and integrity of the company.
  5. Initiate and review specific improvements to designs, systems, methods, procedures, or applications, as they apply to solid waste design projects.
  6. Monitor and maintain a working knowledge of recent developments in solid waste engineering technology, techniques, and procedures.
  7. Participate in the training and mentoring of technical and operational staff.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and clients both in oral and written techniques.
  9. Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and specific timelines.
  10. Be able to work both in the office and in the field on projects as needed to include construction and landfill sites.
  11. Prepare efficient proposals and cost estimates as needed.
  12. Professional communication and interaction with clients and team members.

Qualifications:

  1. BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field.
  2. Experienced knowledge of solid waste engineering.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  4. Intermediate knowledge in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Professional License Required (or the ability to obtain within one year).
  6. Ability to travel from time to time.
