Job Description

As the Production Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of all aspects of the production cycle on new construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Your strong leadership abilities, extensive project management expertise, and proven track record of effectively managing construction site personnel will be critical to the success of our new construction division.

Responsibilities

  1. Project Management and Execution
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new construction projects from initiation to completion.
    • Develop project plans, establish project milestones, and monitor progress against established goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, design, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project delivery.
    • Oversee the management of project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed within scope and on time.
    • Regularly communicate project status updates to stakeholders, including clients, executives, and project teams.
  2. Client Relationship Management
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related discussions.
    • Understand client needs, objectives, and expectations, ensuring project deliverables align with client requirements.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify and address potential risks, challenges, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Actively seek opportunities to expand client relationships and generate additional business opportunities.
  3. Team Leadership and Development
    • Build and lead a high-performing site management team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
    • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback to drive individual and team success.
    • Identify training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the site management team.
    • Promote a safety-conscious work environment, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards.
  4. Financial Management
    • Manage project budgets and financial performance, monitoring costs, expenses, and revenue.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to develop accurate project cost estimates and forecasts.
    • Analyze project financial data, identifying areas for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
    • Review and approve project change orders, ensuring alignment with client requirements and financial implications.
    • Ensure project billing and invoicing processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with contract terms.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed established standards.
    • Collaborate with the quality control team to develop and enforce quality control plans and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices throughout project execution.
    • Conduct regular project site visits and inspections to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Address and resolve any project-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  6. Additional Responsibilities
    • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction industry, with a focus on new construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Team player attitude is a must.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage project budgets and financial performance.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and MS Office applications.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
