Project Engineer (Global Chemical Manufacturing - Process & Capital Projects)
Pave Talent hiring on behalf of our client - a global leader in naturally derived specialty ingredients with over $1B in annual revenue. We're seeking an experienced Project Engineer to drive capital projects and process improvements at their manufacturing facility in Gurnee, IL.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead capital projects from conception to completion, including estimation, justification, and budget management
- Develop and implement engineering solutions for manufacturing processes and equipment
- Conduct detailed engineering and safety reviews for facility improvements
- Supervise contractors and coordinate with site departments during project execution
- Provide expert guidance on technical systems and process-related challenges
- Establish manufacturing standards and monitor plant performance metrics
- Support operations and maintenance teams with day-to-day activities
- Participate in HAZOP studies and safety-based facility upgrades
- Collaborate with finance team on capital budgeting and forecasting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years of relevant project/process engineering experience
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing equipment including:
- Piping systems
- Heat exchangers
- Pumps and valves
- Pressure vessels
- Boilers and chillers
- Air compressors
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution and controls
- Experience with instrumentation, PLCs, and DCS
- Proven ability in problem-solving and root cause analysis
Qualifications
- Experience working in a PSM (Process Safety Management) environment
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Background in chemical manufacturing or specialty ingredients
