Position Summary

Are you a seasoned Bridge Design Project Manager with a passion for leadership and a track record of technical excellence? Join our client's Boston office and take on the challenge of leading bridge design projects for MassDOT and other New England DOTs. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills and contribute to the successful delivery of complex bridge projects.

Challenges You'll Face

  • Overall Project Management: Take ownership of project management from start to finish, including scope development, contract negotiations, staff management, invoicing, and client satisfaction.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance closely and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients, project team firms, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed their requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that quality control is maintained throughout the project lifecycle, in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor staff engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop their skills.
  • Proposal Development: Lead or assist with proposal development efforts, leveraging your expertise to create compelling proposals that resonate with clients.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your technical expertise to review reports, design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates, and provide guidance on design options and code requirements.
  • Advocacy for : Actively advocate for full in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and communities.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional/technical societies, present at industry conferences, and stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in bridge design and engineering.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in design and management of bridge projects for MassDOT.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • PE license in at least one state, with the ability to obtain licenses in additional states as required.
  • Experience with engineering design packages such as AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Criteria:

  • Experience working with Massachusetts, Connecticut, and/or Rhode Island DOTs.
  • Strong relationships within MassDOT, MBTA, and various other local public agencies.
