We are looking to hire a Senior Manager, Public Policy, to join a dynamic team that works in support of Amazon’s health care initiatives. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for customers and patients.

The Senior Manager will help lead Amazon’s public policy efforts related to customer access to pharmacy care across a broad range of stakeholders at the state and local levels. This position will develop and execute policy and advocacy strategies to advance Amazon’s pharmacy initiatives and represent Amazon before state executives, policymakers, pharmacy boards, and other relevant health agencies and stakeholder groups. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively with business, legal, and communications teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals. This position will report to the Director, Health Care Policy, and work closely with other public policy team members to execute on goals.


- Bachelor’s degree required;
- A minimum of 12 years of pharmacy or prescription drug policy working within in a government setting or representing a large, complex health care or pharmacy company, association, or equivalent organization.
- An ability and desire to travel.


- JD, PharmD, or Advanced Degree preferred.
- Strong skills in advocacy and using spoken and written rhetoric to persuade and inform.
- Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert and a manager of complex political relationships.
- Experience working with public policy stakeholders and experience managing multiple policy issues.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and understand how technical language in legislative and regulatory proposals could affect corporate operations, identify business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal identify and external customers. Think critically, process data from multiple sources, forecast potential scenarios, prioritize based on probability and desired outcome, and recommend a best course of action.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate and political levels.
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Demonstrated ability to intelligently build a course of action, analyze trade-offs, make recommendations even in ambiguous situations, work autonomously, and multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.
- Prior experience with steep learning curves.
