Amazon's State & Local Indirect Tax Planning team is seeking a Senior Manager who can work with a high level of independence, but with a great degree of collegiality, serving as a technical tax adviser and supervisor of complex projects.

Key job responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Identifying U.S. state & local indirect, gross receipt, utility, and telecommunications transaction tax issues related to changes in corporate operations and new business initiatives, as well as tax automation systems.
- Researching state and local indirect tax issues including taxability of products and services, entity registration requirements, and invoicing.
- Preparing detailed written tax guidance and requirements for Amazon business projects and internal Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams.
- Partner with compliance and other teams to implement and manage a telecom tax compliance process.

- 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience in taxation in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm
- 4+ years of tax experience in the telecommunications industry

- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partner well with people at all levels within an organization, including coaching of junior staff
- Experience with accounting concepts and tax regulations, laws and standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
