Do you want to manage supplier relationships in the invoice payment lifecycle? Do you consider yourself well-versed in the world of telecom billing reconciliation, Accounts Payable, program management and vendor relationships? If so, the AWS Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development (GCID) Business Operations team at Amazon is looking for an experienced professional to provide support of payment, operations and capacity by managing the invoice to payment lifecycle for our global backbone, interconnect and metro fiber circuits increasing our capability to optimize network cost efficiency around the world.

As part of the Business Operations team, you’ll use the levers of process and technology to help our GCID team influence and hold supplier partners accountable.

Key job responsibilities
• Vendor Management – on-boarding new suppliers including sharing of GCID requirements via supplier welcome package and set-up guidance in our approvals and payable systems. Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure invoicing/payment procedures are clearly understood, documented and accurately managed.
• Drive On-Time Payments - Provide ongoing support ensuring timely vendor payments by reviewing & approving invoices, avoiding late fees, resolution of disputes, prompt acceptance of credits, expense monitoring and cross-functional process improvements
• Controllership of Networking Spend – Optimize cost efficiency of the business by reviewing and understanding service level agreements (SLA), keeping vendors aligned to contractual rates, raising and recovering SLA credit requests.
• Maintain Accountability – influence others and hold responsible individuals accountable for issues resolution. Know when to involve the appropriate business partners, when to escalate and who to engage for effective resolution.

A day in the life
You will work closely with supplier partners, AP, Finance and Business Development to ensure AWS network costs are closely tracked, easily understood, and managed YoY.
• You'll be empowered to think big, influence and exercise ownership over your solutions.
• You’ll interface with various levels within AWS as well as external vendors, to influence decisions and manage expectations
• You'll be a trusted resource for GCID and will be a key member of a team of innovative program managers to extend impact across the organization.

About the team
Business Operations works closely with global suppliers and internal Amazon teams to provide timely payment support of network services. This includes vendor management and on-boarding, managing billing accounts, payment issue resolution, etc. Business Operations routinely implements cost savings and process enhancing projects, data integrity initiatives and various special projects through to completion in support of these efforts.

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience supporting accounting/finance customers to set and effectively manage expectations, project deliverables, and drive resolution when conflicts or issues arise
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- 3+ years Telecom Expense Management

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
