Apple’s Applications group is seeking a senior product designer who brings simple and beautiful experiences to life. This seasoned designer has a blend of visual and interaction design skills and will work on some of the most beloved apps on our platforms. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of designers to craft experiences that shape industries and inform people’s lives every day.
Description
In this role, you will design for delight — creating clear, high-impact experiences that are welcoming and intuitive. You’ll work on information architectures, navigation models, and interfaces that shape the very way people perceive and understand our products. You’ll advocate for the human experience as you craft innovative, new interactions. Leading with empathy, you’ll map out user flows, use cases, and systems that make even our newest products immediately recognizable, inclusive, and fun. You be able to take complex and sometimes ambiguous problem spaces and simplify them into clear stories and actionable proposals. The product designer will be entrusted to dial into the details while also seeing the bigger picture — safeguarding a seamless experience from end to end. You’ll collaborate with your teammates to push concepts further, and your unique voice will make the final output stronger. You’ll also convey all the thought and decisions that went into your work to a broad audience as you diplomatically navigate it through various review cycles, building consensus along the way. Finally, you will work alongside engineers and QA to shepherd a great final product to our customers hands.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of design experience in a design studio or as a product designer. You have a solid portfolio and breadth of work that demonstrates your skill and you can confidently speak to your work.
- You are a critical thinker who is imaginative, creative, and inventive, and you’re a great collaborator who inspires their teammates.
- You can apply principles of visual design (hierarchy, balance, contrast) to new interfaces.
- You’re adept at visualizing, simplifying and representing data in a beautiful, intuitive and communicative way to tell a story.
- You have a good understanding of design systems and patterns.
- You’re a wizard with the design tools you need to get your ideas across, whether it’s Sketch, Illustrator, or otherwise.
