Description
As a HW Systems Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:Build proof-of-concept and prototype hardware and design EE solutions such as circuits, tests, or calibration procedures to meet functional and performance objectivesPerform schematic capture, review layout, and create and execute bring-up and validation plans for complex, mixed-signal PCBsCollaborate within EE and with the cross-functional team to perform failure analysis and investigate root-cause for issues in optoelectronic systemsDevelop automation for validation, testing, and characterization of PCBs
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in EE or related field
- Experience with schematic capture tools, such as Eagle, Altium, or Cadence and PCB layout on complex multi-layer boards
- Experience with hand-on bringup and testing of PCBs with analog sensors, ADCs, FPGAs and using standard lab equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, multimeters etc.)
- Experience designing or simulating circuits such as for PCBs or ICs

Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of industry experience in Electrical Engineering
- Strong Electrical Engineering background with good understanding of fundamentals of analog and mixed signal design, digital design, communication interfaces
- Experience with PCB layout extractions and circuit simulation using LTspice, Spectre, or similar and is a plus
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping of circuits, debugging noise pickup, and experience with challenging designs and debugs
- Experience with automating data collection, scripting using Python or MATLAB is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
