Description
This individual will own the development of electrochemical materials and devices. you will also be responsible for conducting chemical and electrochemical characterization of active materials, designing and executing experiments aimed at improving device performance and reliability, engaging with suppliers to achieve key technology and engineering milestones and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition new technology from development to high-volume production.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree minimum in Materials Science / Engineering, Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or a related field with three years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in plastic device processes and manufacturing in a related industry
- Experience in large data analysis, ideally with automated data collection and coding skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science / Engineering, Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Deep expertise in electrochemistry, encompassing materials, processes, device physics, and characterization.
- Strong background in chemical, electrochemical, and physical surface analysis.
- Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and optical engineering principles, with prototype development experience.
- Experience in industries such as batteries, electrochemical devices, electrochromic materials, electroplating, or optically active thin film polymers.
- Expertise in failure analysis and hands-on proficiency with tools like AFM, SEM, TEM, FTIR, GCMS, LCMS, NMR, potentiometry, electrogravimetry, and Raman spectroscopy.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate effective cross-disciplinary collaboration across diverse teams and cultures.
- Experience working with materials suppliers and overseas vendors.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
