The Intelligent System Experience (ISE) team is looking to hire a senior ML leader in multimodal generative technologies. The team makes fundamental contributions to Apple Intelligence across image/video understanding, image generation, language understanding, safety and the infrastructure that backs these capabilities. A leader hired into the role will focus on ML infrastructure for model development (fine-tuning, human alignment, synth. data, distributed training) and deployment (compression, quantization / palettization, runtime acceleration).

Description

We are looking for a leader with a proven track record in shipping user experiences backed by cutting edge generative workstreams. The ideal candidate needs to be hands on the machine learning front, and is expected to set the vision and execute on ML research investments targeting user experiences for future hardware and software products. The role would entail close partnership with hardware, software and design teams from across the company. An important part of the role would entail leading very cross functional applied R&D lifecycles from prototyping all the way to deploying workflows in production!

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in leading teams on product focussed ML work-streams, with an emphasis on LLMs
  • Track record in having overseen the ML aspects of products that serve a large customer base
  • Experience in running efforts involving efficient distributed training and prod. deployment of language models
  • Strong organizational skills and experience working with large cross-functional and diverse teams

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
