Description
Apple is seeking a Silicon Photonics Test Engineer to join our dynamic team driving research and development in integrated photonic sensors. With our state-of-the-art testing infrastructure, you will design and execute test plans at component, subsystem, and system levels, utilizing your hands-on experience and deep understanding of physics to optimize testing methodologies. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you will actively contribute to the development process and help shape the transition to production evaluation strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent fields
- Coding skills with object-oriented programming languages (Python, Matlab, C++, etc.)
- Experience with experimental evaluation of photonic components and/or systems.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s/PhD degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent fields
- Proven track record of designing and building complex test setups for optoelectronic devices/systems
- Deep understanding in optoelectronic devices/systems physics and evaluation
- Experience in measuring components or packaged modules in challenging dynamic environment, including varying temperature, humidity and strain
- Hands-on experience in characterizing passive and active on-chip optical devices, including MUX, DC, phase shifters, etc
- Hands-on experience with various test equipment, such as tunable laser, OSA, VNA, LCR, SMU, and others
- Analytical experience with statistical data analysis and Six Sigma methodology in a production environment
- Experience with Wafer-Level testing and/or high-speed optoelectronics

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
