Description

Opportunity to evaluate and characterize a wide range of devices and systems, such as servers, electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical systems in the data center and data center infrastructure. Analyze data and report on performance metrics of the evaluated system. Perform failure analysis down to board level components and suggest corrective actions. Evaluate overall design by crafting and conducting evaluation tests; applying knowledge of engineering fundamentals. You may be working on assignments that are team based, cross functional based, or individual contributor focused.ResponsibilitiesDevelop or modify evaluation plans, test criteria, test and data collection environment and test fixturesPost process data, validate for accuracy, issues, and generate summary reports Correlate lab data to model or predicted results, and collaborate findings to cross functional teamsConduct design validation of device or system to requirements, analyze, drive closure of findings and collaborate results across Apple development groups Create formal report with results, observations, findings and present to cross-functional teamsContribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scaleSupport Data Center Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance / troubleshooting support, and procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issuesAs needed lead team members in scoping effort and project planning

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , or a related field or equivalent job-related experience
  • 3+ year background design or evaluation of electronic, or electrical, or electro-mechanical products or systems such as servers, power supplies, control systems, etc…
  • 3+ years of experience with multiple lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, data loggers, digital multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, programmable power supplies, air flow gauges, microscopes, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in prototype work and functional verification specifically with servers, electronics, electro-mechanical devices and systems.
  • Working knowledge three phase power and cooling basics a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Numbers, or other software to organize, analyze, visualize data
  • Proven analytical, data analysis and problem-solving abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate results.
  • Prior experience with coding/scripting skills,Python or equivalent, with the ability to post process and analyze collected data
  • Shown to develop evaluation plans and develop or modify automation software and scripts for measurement data collection and analysis - Setup of environments optimized for test evaluation and measurement.
  • Prior experience with Device Reliability and Failure Analysis to component level, HASS, HALT, lifetime calculations and working with suppliers for root cause and corrective acton using 8D process
  • Self starter, self driven, and can provide multiple options for a given evaluation request
