We are looking for an experienced and motivated technologist who possess a deep understanding of the Energy & Utilities Industry, a business mindset, technical depth, and strong interpersonal skills to build the future with us as a Solutions Architect supporting one or some of the largest Energy companies in the world. You will work with customer line of business owners to solve their biggest business problems and help them attain new levels of performance. You will leverage AWS’ leading cloud services to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address business problems and accelerate the customer cloud journey. These solutions always have the customer and their experience at the center of everything we do.


Key job responsibilities
In partnership with Global Account Managers (Sales), you will shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and enable the broad use of AWS within the organization. You exercise good judgement in balancing short-term value with longer-term supportability and are keenly aware of how technological changes might impact your solutions.

You will adeptly interact, communicate and partner with other teams at AWS such as product, marketing, and professional services, and represent your team to executive management. You possess a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Your dynamism, creativity and passion for excellence will make a positive impact with your customer.

- As a trusted technical advisor, use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives, and help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals.

- Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business needs.

- Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical challenges and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.

- Scope and own customer engagements, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Work backwards from your customer's business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology

- Advocate for your customer with AWS service teams and influence product direction and roadmap

- Share your learning's with the larger AWS community

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

The AWS Industries team is committed to helping industry customers enable their digital transformation journeys. Our primary goal is to meet customers where they are in their cloud journey and work backwards from their industry specific needs to transform their business and their entire industry. Our team speaks the language of our industry customers, which means that we focus on business outcomes and industry use cases on behalf of our customers, whether that is how we build products and solutions, how we sell, how we deliver, or how we partner.

- 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Experience in the Energy and/or Utilities industries
