This role will work with the Post-Production team and others to design and implement solutions in the form of scripts, plugins, and custom tools that streamline video and audio workflows, optimize performance, and empower our team to create industry-leading immersive content more efficiently.
Description
In a fast-paced Post-Production environment, you'll utilize your expertise in Python and C++ to craft scripts, plugins, and tools for our team that includes Editorial, VFX, Online, Color, and Audio. You'll collaborate closely with our team, work to understand workflow bottlenecks, and design solutions that streamline processes and optimize performance. From crafting simple UI frontends for command line tools to building custom software extensions, your expertise will empower our artists and technicians to work more efficiently. In addition, you will create and maintain documentation for proposed workflows. You will also manage connections with other Engineering groups in relation to the Post team by collaborating on tools development, documenting requirements and providing pertinent feedback on other Post needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in supporting production pipeline work at a post facility, major studio, or equivalent
- 3+ years directly interfacing with post production artists to scope, plan, implement, maintain, and revise tooling to improve post processes for Editorial, Color, Audio, Online, and VFX
- 3+ years experience working with Python and automation workflows
- Familiarity with GUI frameworks such as tkinter, Qt, AppKit, or SwiftUI
- Background in developing workflow solutions for Post-Production software, including DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Suite, Compressor, Pro Tools, Nuke, Cinema 4D, Shotgrid and Deadline
- Strong self-sufficient troubleshooter that is detail and results oriented, comfortable with collaboration and documentation
- Bachelors degree in related discipline or industry experience

- Experience working with Compressor or other media processing tools like ffmpeg

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,000 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
