We are seeking a Data Center Engineering Colo Facilities Manager (FM) to serve as a technical leader within the Atlanta Region for Amazon data centers. The position will help ensure the safety, security, availability, and reliability to meet or exceed defined service level agreements of data center operations with our colo partners. The Data Center Engineering FM is responsible for leading the Colo DCEO engineers and also supporting launch standup and deployment of assigned data centers. This role will assist in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping the operating costs of the facilities at a minimum. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.99% uptime. The Data Center Engineering FM will collaborate with peer leaders globally on continuous improvement efforts within the organization.
This role leads the team that acts as Amazon’s front line when it comes to electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. The team will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment through the site including electrical support equipment. Change Management is very important in this role and having documentation of work performed is critical. Examples of this may include stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems maintenance, 3-phase electrical systems that include switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and busways. Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water chemical system, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.

Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical infrastructure. Ensure that all work performed within the space is done to high quality and without impact to internal/external customers
* Manage the performance of engineering technicians in all aspects of their career development
* Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety of support teams, and drive them from conception to completion
* Ensure staffing is maintained and grow with expansions
* Be actively involved in ongoing construction activities with our colo providers within the ATL region.
* Coordinate daily with Construction teams, internal teams and General Contracting teams as well as vendors and their sub teams.
* Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures
This position will be responsible for the oversight of multiple facilities within a single AWS Region.

Key job responsibilities
Ordering equipment and supplies for data center and their staff through purchase orders (PO)
Responsible for entire facility, including cooling, electrical, HVAC systems,
Support sites and even interior and exterior such as landscaping contracts and repairing/painting inside through vendors.
Responsible for job performance of staff and setting goals
Reviewing Change management and SOPs to ensure they meet AWS standards and policies
Work with stakeholder teams such as various engineering teams, on site IT support staff (DCO), security, safety, etc.

- Four year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, equivalent technical training, or work experience
- 5+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports preferably managing other managers.
- This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen.
- 5+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
- Advanced understanding of equipment life cycle management.
- Experience managing operational and capital budgets.
- Experience and proven track record developing staffing models, hiring for high performing teams and developing leadership within their organization.
- An excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
