Amazon.com seeks a Finance Manager to be a key partner for the high growth Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) and Publisher Technology (PubTech) businesses. This position will support owning consolidation, reporting, and headcount and OpEx allocations. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial modeling and analysis for adhoc projects, reporting and variance analysis. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, detail oriented, and has the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including partner finance teams, engineering, product management, ad operations, and analytics. He or she will simultaneously be focused on the business operational metrics while thinking big about new business and monetization opportunities. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with analytics and diving deep to understand the impact of to service growth and customers.

Key job responsibilities
- Support forecasting efforts of operating expenses, headcount, and resource allocation.
- Develop new metrics to assess the health of the business in terms of monetization and OpEx controllership.
- Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership.
- Support financial and goal planning by setting working backward timelines for business operating reviews, facilitating monthly financial reviews with leadership, and consolidating Amazon Publisher P&Ls.
- Act as a subject matter expert for OpEx allocations, and headcount management and tracking.



A day in the life
This role will support the Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) finance teams managing Opex, and surfacing insights across these businesses. It will work with business partners on HC and Opex allocations, as well as partner directly with APM business and finance leadership on a day to day basis.

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
