Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement automation solutions to streamline satellite contact setups and validation processes.
- Develop monitoring and diagnostic tools to ensure reliability and early fault detection.
- Collaborate with other teams to align automation with Kuiper’s operational objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, continually enhancing the stability and performance of test processes.
- Contribute to code quality and best practices, providing mentorship to junior engineers.

A day in the life
As a Sr. SDE on the GSG team, you’ll be instrumental in creating and refining the tools and systems that power this automated infrastructure. This role involves developing end-to-end automation for core testing processes, ensuring real-time health checks, and enabling continuous integration of new features across Kuiper environments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to address challenging technical problems, optimize workflows, and drive improvements that reduce setup time, improve reliability, and support Kuiper’s long-term goals.

The GSG team is central to Kuiper’s mission, automating and enhancing the way satellite-ground communications are tested and verified across a variety of environments. The team’s work enables seamless and consistent satellite testing, supporting everything from early development to full-scale operational testing in dynamic and complex venues. By designing scalable automation solutions, the GSG team helps ensure that Kuiper’s satellite network meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
