The Sr. TPM is responsible for leading a team of harness engineers and mechanical engineers to ensure satellite systems are developed and deployed on-time and meet or exceed all requirements. This role includes direct responsibility for cross-functional leadership of harness engineering, procurement, delivery, and integration. This is a technical role requiring experience with integrated hardware and interconnect systems. You will have significant influence over the design and the test approach we take to develop the system.
Key job responsibilities
• Perform Technical Program Management of harness engineering, manufacturing, delivery, test, quality and integration. This requires concept to production ownership of all harnesses.
• Perform Technical Program Management of mechanisms and mechanical integration.
• Collaborate with engineering and supply chain to create project execution plans with detailed dependencies.
• Develop and manage technical requirements and interfaces that tie to system level requirements.
• In collaboration with the engineering and supply chain teams, take ownership of periodic business reviews for the harness and mechanisms domain.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
• Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the systems development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
• Adhere to Program Management practices for the team including risk management, requirements management, verification and validation.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- 5+ years of hardware, software, system integration and test development of complex systems across the full product life cycle – concept to production.
- 4+ years of experience in a technical lead, systems engineer, or technical program management role with significant experience integrating HW into a complex system.
- 4+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams delivering products on schedule.
- Proficiency with at least one schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet or alternative.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Hands-on working experience in spacecraft systems for all different phases of missions: initial design, development, test, delivery, launch and operation.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
- Ability to show judgment and lead and influence others.
- Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
- Track record for being detail-oriented.
