Key job responsibilities
As a System Dev Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our team. You will become a subject matter expert across multiple services, guiding their development, deployment, operation, and growth within our network. Utilize data trends and metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services. Actively refine and enhance team procedures and processes, as well as those utilized by internal stakeholders. Tackle new and ambiguous challenges with a commitment to high-quality development, consistently delivering solutions that have a direct impact on customers.

A day in the life
You will be instrumental in automating and productionizing Kuiper's network infrastructure and systems. Focus on simplifying, reinventing, and innovating systems, processes, and tools to elevate the customer experience. Craft unique and effective solutions to complex technical issues faced by our customers. Engage in continuous learning and development by working alongside and gaining insights from Amazon's senior and Principal engineers. Contribute to the team's growth through coaching, hiring, and developing team members.

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
