The Connected Media software team, part of the Audio & Media Technology Group (AMT), seeks a passionate, self-motivated senior AirPlay SDK engineer to build a stellar experience for 3rd party products that interoperate with Apple’s ecosystem. We’re looking for someone dedicated and excited about taking ideas from conception to reality, with opportunities to work on groundbreaking features like Whole Home Audio, AirPlay 2-enabled smart TVs, CarPlay, and more.
Description
As a key member of the Connected Media team, you will be involved in developing and supporting next-generation media experiences and AirPlay features across Apple’s ecosystem. You will have an opportunity to work with Apple technologies, from Bonjour and BluetoothLE to peer-to-peer WiFi, designing solutions that bring seamless media playback and synchronization between devices.You’ll work on enhancing the AirPlay software stack, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a cohesive media experience across Apple products and third-party devices. This role requires strong technical skills in both system-level and application development, including experience with real-time operating systems and media applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in C/C++, and/or Objective-C
- Strong knowledge of computer architecture and development on real-time and high-level operating systems
- Experience with media application development
- Hands-on experience in debugging and problem-solving in large codebases
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in JavaScript with experience in TypeScript
- Knowledge of adaptive streaming (e.g., HTTP Live Streaming, DASH) and HTML5-based video playback technologies (MSE, EME)
- Experience developing for mobile devices, media players, smart TVs, and set-top boxes

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
