Description

In this role, you will maintain and design new software stacks for future health products and sensing technologies. Ideally you have experience dealing with human factors, care deeply about user experience, enjoy supporting technology investigations, and are comfortable jumping between multiple levels of the software stack. This position requires a self-motivated engineer with strong technical and communication skills to handle responsibilities including: - Architecting and building the software stack to implement new features in the Health space- Participating in architecture and code reviews- Building internal tools as needed to help ship high quality software- Performance tuning to deliver the best experience to users

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid programming skills in at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Rust
  • Object oriented programming and design skills
  • Experience developing reusable public or private APIs
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms

  • Self-directed, analytical, and works well in a team environment
  • Comfortable working at both higher and lower levels of software
  • Have built projects using Objective-C or Swift and experience with iOS, macOS, and/or tvOS SDKs
  • Experience building performant SW for embedded systems
  • Experience working with sensor data (e.g. accelerometer, heart rate sensor) is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with IOKit, Objective-C and other iOS/OS X frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with debugging and profiling code in both kernel and user space
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $174,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
