Apple’s Platform Architecture team is looking for an enthusiastic Engineer with a strong background in thermal analysis, power measurements and performance characterization. We are seeking a team member who is self-driven with initiative and passion for thermal solutions in consumer products. In this role, you will define key metrics to evaluate passive and active cooling solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
- Experience with hardware and/or software thermal management solutions.
- Experience with power measurements and thermal testing.
- Experience with data processing language/library such as Python3, Pandas, Scipy, Numpy, Matplotlib, Matlab or similar.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with die-level / SoC level thermal analysis and with data analytics and data visualization tools.
- Sharp eye for benchmarking tools for product evaluation and high focus on user experience for experiment design.
- Experience with performance data collection and analysis for computer hardware and/or mobile devices.
- Identifying and scoping necessary reworks to enable power and thermal measurements on commercial samples.
- Proficiency and examples of coding in one of the languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, Python, Unix, MySQL, Java Script.
- Strong object-oriented design skills, coupled with a deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Fundamental knowledge of embedded processors, with in-depth knowledge of real time operating system concepts.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
