Description
As Senior Engineer on the Tools & Technology team, you will develop and maintain the bespoke engine, requiring architectural design, implementation, debugging and optimization of systems, while working with artists and designers in areas such as animation, rendering and tools. • Contribute to a proprietary engine to enable authoring of custom content representative of modern and forward-looking games.• Implement systems to showcase the capabilities of Apple platforms.• Evaluate current and upcoming games to determine how they use system resources.• Research future directions for games and implement systems that attempt to predict where developers will be going in the next 3 to 5 years.• Collaborate with art and design disciplines.• Collaborate with other Apple teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience
- 5+ years of experience working as an engineer in the games industry or a similar industry.
- Experience in C and C++ programming languages.
- Experience with 3D math (linear algebra, vector math).
- Experience with game technologies such as AI, physics and/or animation.
- Experience with game asset pipelines.
- Familiarity using CPU and GPU performance profiling tools.

- Contributed to the development of two or more shipped games, PC or console.
- Expertise in graphics APIs (DirectX, Metal and/or Vulkan).
- Experience with HLSL and/or Metal Shading Language.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
