We are seeking a talented, human-centered design enthusiast to join our Human-Centered Design Group—a team of UX designers, Ergometrists, and Industrial Designers dedicated to building future-forward solutions for robotics innovation. In this role, you won’t just use existing tools; you’ll discover and evaluate emerging technologies, combine them into powerful workflows, and demonstrate how they can transform collaboration and decision-making at scale.

Key job responsibilities
• Research and Discovery: Identify the most promising VR/AR technologies, software platforms, and tools for design collaboration and immersive communication.
• Opportunity Scouting: Explore and evaluate innovative solutions that align with Amazon Robotics’ goals, focusing on creating full-size, interactive, and immersive models of robotics projects.
• Prototype Demonstrations: Combine tools and technologies into functional prototypes that showcase potential solutions for design and engineering teams.
• Foundation Building: Develop documentation, workflows, and recommendations to lay the groundwork for VR/AR integration into Amazon Robotics’ processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with UX designers, engineers, and ergonomists to gather input, refine solutions, and align tools with the needs of diverse stakeholders.
• Vision Shaping: Contribute to the long-term vision of VR/AR at Amazon Robotics by identifying gaps, opportunities, and strategies for scaling these technologies across teams.

- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Industrial Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, especially VR/AR and their applications in design and engineering.
- Ability to quickly learn and evaluate new tools, platforms, and software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to demonstrate opportunities and potential solutions to multidisciplinary teams.
- A creative and experimental mindset, with a passion for discovering what’s possible.

- Familiarity with VR/AR platforms such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar (programming skills are not required but a basic understanding is a plus).
- Knowledge of 3D modeling tools (Blender, Maya, Rhino) and/or visualization platforms.
- Experience in building workflows or systems to enhance team collaboration.
- A passion for human-centered design principles and creating tools that empower users.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to pioneer new methods for collaborative design and engineering.

The base pay for this position ranges from $70,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $157,700/year in our highest geographic market.
