Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to be a key member in our Training and Certification (T&C) Finance team. T&C’s mission is to cultivate hundreds of millions of highly skilled cloud professionals by offering the leading cloud training and certification programs in the industry.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, data mining and modeling capabilities, keen attention to detail, sound logical reasoning, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. They collaborate with business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. A typical day in this role involves identifying the high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, building creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, and solving complex problems that impact strategic decisions.


Key job responsibilities
• Act as the Finance Partner for the Training & Certification (T&C) 3rd Party Delivery (Channel) and AWS Cloud Institute (ACI) businesses.
• Work with Business Partners to build business models, pricing strategies, and value propositions and drive near-term and long-term forecasting.
• Clearly articulate complex financial data-driven analyses to provide stakeholders with key financial inputs/insights.
• Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency through data, modelling, and analysis. Examples include proactively resolving defects, benchmarking key performance indicators, and developing new metrics.
• Manage competing priorities to complete both ad-hoc and strategic projects
• Promote a positive and collaborative culture


About the team
We support the Training & Certification (T&C) business, a part of the larger AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services team (SMGS). We provide financial results and insights to Director and VP level executives. Team members are located across the US and we communicate with each other regularly, lending a hand and support with positive, flexible mindsets when priorities shift. We love to learn and encourage open discussion on ways to improve all that we do. We welcome a fresh perspective to help scale with the demands of the growing businesses we support.

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
