Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the WW Books Finance team. Amazon Books operates across multiple marketplaces around the globe offering customers a huge selection of physical and digital books, including Kindle Unlimited subscriptions. The business also prints books, acts a publisher, and innovates in new areas such as manga web scrolling comics. The successful candidate will be thoughtful, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, financial analysis, and logical reasoning. The role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and will provide decision support and advice for key business leaders. The role will act the global WW Books Finance leader for the Free Cash Flow (FCF) mechanism and Cost-to-Serve forum, as well as own other critical ad hoc projects.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead the WW Books Free Cash Flow mechanism of identifying, delivering, and tracking opportunities to unlock FCF.
• Lead the WW Books Cost-to-Serve forum which analyses input metrics across marketplaces to identify opportunities to lower cost and improve service levels for customers.
• Own ad hoc analytical projects spanning areas such as FP&A, technology, or finance goals.
• Support and own critical workstreams within annual planning activities and provide deep dive analysis in areas such as ASP, Net PPM, or Cost-to-Serve.
• Partner with global marketplace finance leaders to benchmark financial performance and identify options to improve profitability and FCF.
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
