Ad tech's Real-Time Bidding (RTB) ecosystem is an exhilarating domain that seamlessly fuses the complexity of big data, real-time processing, and machine learning at an immense scale. Ad-Tech applications operate at tens of millions of TPS, at a tight SLA of a few milliseconds, and with extremely low marginal cost. In the AWS application organization, we are building a new AWS product, targeted to launch early next year, that can greatly simplify implementation, deployment and operation of RTB applications on AWS.

We are looking for a strong Software Development Engineer with experience in building secure, scalable solutions that delight customers. As a foundational member of the team, you will have broad ownership and design/implement solutions that contribute directly to our service launch. You will be joining a strong team with a great work environment, with an opportunity to lead the technology and product decisions we make on behalf of these interesting customer challenges.

The ideal candidate should have experience in building distributed systems, with strength on infrastructure concepts. Familiarity with Rust (data plane) or Kotlin (control plane) is a preference, but not a requirement. In addition to strong technical knowledge, the ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced start-up like environment and be passionate about solving ambiguous problems.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
