We are looking for an innovative, hands-on, customer-obsessed HR Program Manager with a passion for project Management organization, strong writing skills, and who can drive initiatives. This role leads Early Career Talent (ECT) Demand and Intern experience programs for the AWS Database organizations. The role also leads ad hoc HR projects for Database and AI/ML teams within Utility Computing.
The role leads end-to-end Early Career Demand Planning for the Database organization, partnering closely with business leaders (L10-L7’s), HRBP, Workforce Strategy and Early Career Talent Acquisition (ECT TA) teams to define and execute against the Early Career strategy.This role is also responsible for the Early Career Talent Experience and responsible to investigate program health and test innovative thinking (pilots, diversity & inclusion, focus group, events, etc.) to elevate both intern and business experiences. This involves overseeing intern onboarding and landing experience, developing and executing intern engagement forums like intern support network and communities, through close collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders, including TA, HRBP’s, Hiring managers, incoming interns/campus hires, Executive Assistants and Program Managers.

This role will require you to comfortably communicate in written and verbal mediums with stakeholders ranging from Technology People Managers to Amazon VP’s. Your excellent communication skills, should also include a proven ability to effectively manage, influence and negotiate with external/internal business partners in order to meet organizational objectives. A successful candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable leading large, complex projects. You'll need strong data and analytic skills and the ability to translate clients’ business needs into solvable plans and solutions to address those needs and achieve results. You will need to gain fluency in tech and PXT strategic language.
The work is both tactical and strategic. This role will support senior PXT and business leaders for the organization as we manage headcount planning, hiring, onboarding and developing diverse student hires from campus. The Program Manager will navigate complexity and ambiguity to find a path forward in difficult situations, making trade-offs between short-term talent needs vs. long-term, sustainable developmental pipelines.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead ECT demand collection and validation, intern conversion process, and unblocking business and interns and FTE hires’ issues and challenges.
• Function as an SME in the Early Career Talent space to cultivate new talent pipelines and develop processes at scale, influence L8 and L10 leadership, provide insights and deep dive into program health, and share best practices across ECT PM communities within AWS
• Demonstrate a broad understanding of how HR works, end to end, in order to connect the dots and identify improvement opportunities at the macro level.
• Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
• Identifies and remove process roadblocks to unblock teams, simplify and invent better processes, and increase the speed of delivery as a force multiplier.
• Influence team priorities and business strategy through data-driven contributions.
• Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility.
• Prioritize multiple inputs and initiate course corrections for team in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Communicate ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences.
• Implements regular reviews of current processes, fully develops suggestions for improvements to maximize value of resources, quickly identifies obstacles and prioritizes changes.
• Exhibits ruthless attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced environment

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
