In this role, you will be a key member of the system engineering team working on modem systems features and requirements.
Description
- Design and simulate state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication algorithms. - Conducting innovative design for advanced demodulation and channel coding methods with focus intellectual property development.- Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development. - Designing baseband algorithms for cellular modems, with emphasis on channel coding, including emerging trends in machine learning and advanced demodulation and channel coding methods.- Collaborate with hardware digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area-efficient implementation.- Conducting simulations in C/C++/MATLAB and optimizing algorithms for mobile devices.- Supporting commercialization and collaborating with other SW/HW engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS and 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Worked as part of SoC or modem team.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (linear algebra, random processes, detection and estimation, and coding theory).
- Strong background in wireless communications research preferably with information-theoretic background and coding theory.
- Deep-knowledge of communication system theory, estimation theory, forward-error correction (FEC), machine learning models for communications.
- Knowledge of cellular communication standards: 5G-NR, 4G-LTE.
- Experience with Matlab/C, design flow, algorithm development, link-level simulation (floating-point and fixed-point.
- Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science plus 5 years of experience is preferred.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
