Apple is seeking an highly motivated lens module integration engineer to drive the development and integration of innovative optical and opto-mechanical devices and technologies into our product. This role is essential in the optimization of opto-mechanical system manufacturing and integration processes, ensuring our lenses meet high standards of user experience and performance target.

Description

As an Optical Module Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating advanced processes and technologies to produce state-of-the-art opto-mechanical module. Your work will involve close collaboration with internal multi-functional teams, external vendors, and managing engineering activities. This includes leading all aspects of spec definition/alignments, design reviews, developing qualification plans, conducting data reviews, and performing failure analysis. Your efforts will be crucial in delivering high performance lens modules for Apple Vision products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, like electrical, mechanical, optical, or physics
  • 10+ years of industry experience in consumer electronics
  • 10+ years of experience driving vendor interactions and negotiating technical specifications to achieve project technical goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in leading optical and opto-mechanical module technical development over full project cycle, from initial design requirements to sustained production
  • Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing methods and processes used on fabrication of optical modules, including lenses and actuators
  • Experience of bringing up new vendor to technology development and mass production
  • Skilled in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for tackling complex systemic issues, performing failure analysis, data analysis, image processing and devising effective mitigation plans
  • Effective communication and multi-functional collaboration in the areas of optical, mechanical, electrical design and reliability team
  • Experienced in writhing technical requirement specification documents
  • Familiar with metrology or manufacturing equipment development

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
