Amazon B2B Payments and Lending team is looking for a Sr. Portfolio Manager to join the Payments team to manage the credit performance of the North America Lending portfolio. The successful candidate will be a thought leader who can help build and scale a best-in-class credit management program. This candidate will be responsible for managing the Lending program from a risk perspective to solve small and medium-sized businesses' challenges getting the capital they need to grow their businesses while staying within a target loss rate. In this role, the candidate will drive credit policy changes and procedures and inform automated decisioning and monitoring systems based on the customer’s financials and credit worthiness. The ideal candidate should possess strong people and credit management skills, directly support continuous improvement initiatives, be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Managing end-to-end credit strategy across customer lifecycle and through economic cycles and other shocks
• Assist in defining policies and product features to support credit decisioning and monitoring
• Establish, constantly improve, and be a thought leader for a credit adjudication and performance monitoring platform
• Develop processes, mechanisms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to grow efficiently and in a scalable way
• Partner with underwriting operations on complex credit decisions that require manual reviews or exceptions
• Identify innovations and drive experiments that provide customers with a great payment experience
• Identify, monitor and communicate the right metrics to measure decision quality and portfolio health
• Participate in program operations, partner with product managers and contribute to team-wide improvement goals
• Own relationships with Account Receivables to establish and manage loss mitigation and recovery processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in commercial credit risk management
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python, and experience in processing complex datasets from multiple sources
- Clear examples of demonstrated judgment and strategic insight
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and desire to roll up sleeves and solve problems at root cause
- Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, CFA or Master's Degree in relevant fields
- Experience in managing credit risk program for an unsecured lending portfolio

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
