The Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) supply chain team is accountable to manage all IT infrastructure and end user equipment deployed across Amazon fulfillment facilities globally. The team is responsible to provide end to end solutions for this equipment that includes engineering, lifecycle management, change control, demand planning, supplier readiness, material management, and total cost of ownership. Our initiatives deliver on the solutions that power the physical fulfillment to millions of Amazon.com customers across the world.
OTS Supply Chain is establishing a new Supplier Performance Management (SPM) team to ensure our suppliers are raising the bar on performance in terms of product quality, supply risk, delivery performance, and required data. The leader of this team will work closely with Category Management, Global Procurement, and other internal Supply Chain teams to establish standards by which to measure supplier performance, and will develop processes, metrics, and mechanisms to measure, track, and communicate these standards. SPM will manage day to day performance of suppliers globally and will have responsibility for enforcing compliance with expectations and with raising the level of execution from suppliers. This will include handling operational supply risk escalations, ensuring suppliers are meeting customer timelines for product deliveries. SPM will also own supplier data, including lead times, promise dates, and ASNs for collecting delivery information, all of which support processes within the ERP system. Data collection mechanisms, data validation, and reporting will fall under this team. As this will be a new team, it’s critical that the chosen leader have the ability not only to manage a team effectively, but also to provide leadership as they grow and develop team members.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish and develop the new Supplier Performance Management team.
- Create strategies to effectively execute the responsibilities of the team, including management of product quality, supply risk, delivery performance, supplier data management, and supplier compliance.
- Develop tools and mechanism to collect, measure, and report out on supplier metrics.
- Further develop the current supplier scorecard mechanism to provide objective feedback to critical suppliers on strengths and improvement opportunities.
- Engage with other leaders to improve Supply Chain processes related to supplier performance issues.
- Engage with Suppliers in a hands-on approach to support every day, operational requirements related to delivery performance, quality issues, and compliance gaps.
- Manage day to day escalations and prioritization of at-risk product orders.
- Keep abreast of changing business requirements and market conditions that could impact supplier performance.
- Perform spend analysis based on a variety of relevant information, prepare financial models, identify opportunities, and present business case and recommendations to internal business partners.
- Support the strategic goals of the business partners; act as a ‘consultant’ to help achieve those objectives. Be recognized by business partners for supporting their strategy and driving value.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, I.T. or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
- 5+ years leading and developing high performing teams
- Ability to exercise judgment in evaluation of suppliers, supplier performance, and ensure that project goals, schedules and performance requirements are achieved
- Customer obsession, bias for action and urgency
- Must have a positive, collaborative attitude
- Excellent verbal skills and above average written communication skills
- Strong PC skills including Windows and Excel
- This role may include up to 10% travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Degree
- 15+ years of experience with focus on supply chain, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
- 8+ years leading and developing high performing teams
- Experience and knowledge of master data management, dashboarding, and automating data collection and reporting
- Strategic, long term critical thinking and planning
- Financial analysis and value / TCO analysis
- An understanding of global supply risk and its implications
