Our Data Center Engineering team is responsible for evaluating and characterizing technologies of IT servers, Data Center Infrastructure devices and systems. One of our missions is to develop, evaluate, qualify, and support firmware and software for our global data center infrastructure, lab test environment, and fleet reporting. We are looking for a team-oriented, innovative, logical mindset, forward-thinking, self-confident, experienced Software/Firmware Engineer to join our team.

Description

As an Apple software/firmware engineer you will work with a wide variety of platforms to develop, refine, and support software/firmware spanning from our lab environment to our global data center infrastructure. Software is developed for data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting for characterization, fleet performance, diagnostics, failure analysis, penetration testing, and operating performance.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead team members in defining project requirements, risks, effort, and schedule.
  2. Lead design reviews, code reviews, and failure analysis reviews.
  3. Develop or refine test automation software for a specific project, device, or system.
  4. Configure devices/systems and evaluate devices/systems, collect data, post-process data, analyze data, and generate reports.
  5. Discover, analyze, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve observed issues with software, firmware, test results, or devices under test.
  6. Develop software to collect fleet data, post-process data, analyze data, and create reports providing results and guidance.
  7. Collaborate across teams and contribute to resolving requests or issues.
  8. Develop use cases for new technologies, features, or discovered issues.
  9. Collaborate in failure analysis of devices, communications, components, and vulnerabilities.
  10. Document evaluation methods, setup, processes, and procedures.
  11. Contribute to our body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Statistics, or a related field or equivalent job-related experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience with at least one programming language such as Python, C++, Java, Swift, Go, Rust, Shell, etc.
  3. Experience working with databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, Oracle, Redis, MySQL, Cassandra, Snowflake, DuckDB, etc.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of Software and Firmware Development including Networking using Linux, or Embedded RTOS environments.
  2. Proficient in Python, C++, shell scripting and protocols SNMP, BACnet, Modbus, and configuration management tools.
  3. Experience with React, Node JS, GO, Docker is desirable.
  4. Knowledge of UDP and TCP protocols including DHCP, SNMP, RSYSLOG, MQTT, LDAPS, DNS, SSH, HTTPS with knowledge of SSL troubleshooting.
  5. Experience with Apple OS and iOS is a real plus.
  6. Experience with databases such as SQL, Snowflake, DuckDB.
  7. Ability to develop architectures, requirements, code, review, evaluate, troubleshoot, and test end products.
  8. Experience with information security compliance, penetration testing, and associated software and protocols.
  9. Experienced in developing test scripts, data acquisition scripts, and ability to visualize data, analyze data, and draw conclusions and create reports.
  10. Experience in researching, understanding and explaining complex systems in clear and concise language.
  11. Experience in project management in leading, organizing, directing, and collaborating cross-functionally.
