Key job responsibilities
The Program Lead works with internal stakeholders and customers to identify highest added-value opportunities to drive free-cash flow and at the same time optimize customer experience. The role requires superior analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate.
A successful candidate will be eager to invent and simplify process, procedures and tools used to measure, analyze and report. They will be able to create or distill large ideas and transform them into projects, partnering with cross-functional teams.
The candidate will also feel comfortable documenting and presenting new projects and strategies to senior leadership and secure their buy in.
A day in the life
Diving deep into nuances of AWS billing, cash collection and customer payment experience and creating the mid to long term vision for these areas will represent the bulk of your time. You will be a trusted advisor for different functions with Amazon AWS Finance Operations, but also Accounting, Finance, Sales and Customer Support teams. Your vision and bias for particular approach and solutions will prescribe the marching orders of various teams contributing to AWS cash flow management.
About the team
• Reporting and forecasting of FP&A responsibilities including financial analysis, forecasting, goal setting, modeling and monthly reporting
• Work directly with business leaders and cross-functional teams to present results of ad hoc business and statistical analysis and recommendations to senior management for optimal decision making
• Develop and automate reporting of key performance metrics and analysis to achieve business goals
• Establish and advance policies/procedures to increase efficiencies and improve customer experience
• Define, create, improve and maintain reporting methodologies using tools such as Excel and SQL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with competing deadlines.
