This position will work with cross-functional stakeholders to align on priorities, develop processes and mechanisms, own status updates and program reviews to ensure stakeholder alignment and ensure transparency. In this role, the Program Manager will be key in maintaining program quality and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will help build reporting mechanisms, identify opportunities, communicate issues and progress, mitigate risks, respond to executive escalations, connect and coordinate resources, and work with cross-functional partners.

A day in the life
A typical day may consist of hosting a weekly business review in the morning. During these reviews you will set the agenda, ensure teams have completed their updates, and keep the meeting on track. You will hold teams accountable to prior action items, and discuss and issue new action items.

Later that day you may issue new standards for project updates in our project management software. This would be followed by writing an executive summary for a monthly project update report.

Finally you may end the day leading a brainstorming session to identify potential project risks and mitigation strategies.

About the team
Our team consists of a large groups of configuration engineers that primarily collect stakeholder requirements and implement algorithmic changes within the transportation planning technology systems to provide better speed and cost for the customers.

These groups are supported by Software Development, Analytics, Quality, and Product management teams internally. Additional support is provided from matrixed teams such as Finance, HR, Training/Learning, other PMOs, Planning teams.

All of these teams work together on a portfolio of projects that drive improvements for our technology, process, and people to enhance the way we do business and the results of our work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- PMP
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
- 5+ years experience in engineering or operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
- Experience managing and organizing a project portfolio in a project management software suite

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
