Project Kuiper is a global initiative to expand broadband access through a network of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit. Its goal is to deliver fast, affordable internet connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, helping to bridge the digital divide. As a Privacy Specialist on the Kuiper team, you will play a crucial role in operationalizing privacy practices across Kuiper's diverse customer base. This involves collaborating with stakeholders in legal, engineering, customer service to ensure privacy compliance and positive customer outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage multiple privacy-focused projects concurrently, with a sense of urgency and adaptability to ambiguity.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of privacy-related processes and systems, using data analysis to identify and recommend mitigating measures.
- Perform privacy assessments for Kuiper's applications, both launched and in development, working closely with product teams to address privacy obligations.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including legal, and federated privacy groups, to integrate privacy considerations into project planning and decision-making.
- Maintain deep expertise in evolving privacy regulations and standards, such as CPRA and GDPR, to ensure Kuiper's compliance.
- Identify, track, and report on key privacy metrics to drive continuous improvement.


Export Control Requirements: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in privacy or compliance roles
- 3+ years leading projects involving automated and manual systems, supporting internal customers across multiple locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- CIPP Certification(s)
- 5 + years working with cross-functional teams
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
- Team player with willingness to quickly pivot as privacy landscape shifts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market.
