AWS Monetization (MZN) is looking for a Sales Operations Specialist to support operations of revenue-related programs. This specialist will be a point of contact for internal inquiries and escalations on month end processes providing data driven decisions and support. This position will contribute to short- and long-term solutions to drive process efficiency and effective controllership for the AWS month-end process cycles. This specialist will have sufficient finance/accounting understanding to help identify issues, develop reporting requirements, and have a solid understanding of computing system interaction. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to accounting, finance, businesses and technical teams. You must be able to work independently, remain flexible with the ability to prioritize workloads, and maintain a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Similarly, this position is expected to manipulate and mine large data sets to identify, isolate, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
Own monthly month end processes through deep dive analysis, anomoly detection and resolution.
Develop tools, dashboards, queries, and reports while ensuring data quality and integrity. Ensuring accuracy of data and data analysis is of utmost importance.
Manage stakeholder requirements, feature requests, solution life-cycle management, write 1-pagers/6-pagers/PRFAQ before new solution/automation launches.
Work on Continuous Improvements to translate business requirement into proof of concept, project resource, and timeline estimate.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.
A day in the life
Proactively evaluate, develop, and simplify working procedures to continuously improve the operations and reduce controllership risks through automation and tech.
Project manage automation and improvement initiatives by communicating program status, risk, providing clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation to leadership.
Establish and maintain critical relationships with internal partners including MZN Ops teams, Sales teams, product and engineering teams, and AWS Accounting to advocate for automated month end close accounting deliverables.
Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to understand in-depth and improve existing models and processes.
Support recurring and ad hoc reporting and deep dive inquiries for various internal/external stakeholders.
Develop tooling and report build outs for improve efficiency.
Look around corners to provide predictive risk analysis and opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience
- Experience developing business analytics or equivalent
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- SQL Knowledge
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience
- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through.
- Experience in lean methodologies (Kaizen, Green Belt Six Sigma).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
