Amazon Shopping Video (ASV) is a new strategic program in Advertisement that leverages the potential of video to help millions of customers find product inspiration through videos. ASV is seeking an exceptionally skilled and enthusiastic applied scientist to join the Amazon Live team.

Our mission is to provide a delightful video experience to Amazon’s customers by pushing the envelope in Computer Vision, image processing and multimodal LLM. You will work collaborate closely with product managers and work alongside with other scientists to develop novel approaches, algorithms and modeling techniques to improve live streaming experience for our customers and influencers. You will conduct research in computer vision and natural language processing to develop new models and algorithms to solve for content personalization, image and video understanding, and recommendation systems. You will collaborate closely with the engineering teams to integrate the models into the production systems.

We enable customers to find relevant content and explore our vast library of product-focused videos on our home experiences across desktop, mobile and FireTV, and throughout their shopping journey on Amazon. We are very much a startup within Amazon aiming to reinvent the way customers use video to shop, and we are looking for motivated, thoughtful self-starters who can partner effectively across our multi-disciplinary teams to drive innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
