We are looking for an engineer with a background and strong interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Prime Air has ambitious expansion plans of launching the autonomous drone delivery service in several cities in the US and EU. You will join a team of GIS experts and be expected to develop geospatial models, validate data accuracy, and manage datasets from a variety of sources.
Key job responsibilities
- Understand customer data needs
- Develop GIS models and run analyses
- Create data transformations across various datums and epochs
- Manage data integrity and reference frames. Create mechanisms to ensure the latest data is used by all the clients.
- Utilize GIS software and libraries to solve problems
- Collaborate with SDEs and other GIS team members
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of GIS experience or remote sensing
- Bachelor’s degree, or Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcPy, QGIS
- Experience programming in Python
- Experience in any of the following areas: remote sensing, cartography, geodesy, feature extraction, data manipulation, and data transformation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with LiDAR and photogrammetry processing
- Experience with large datasets
- Experience in AWS tools such as EC2, S3, Batch and Glue

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
