Key job responsibilities
As a Principal HR leader, you will provide strategic leadership and expertise in the areas of Organizational design, Culture and Talent. You will own, and be instrumental in initiating and driving initiatives within your business to solve business problems. You will work with senior leaders within the organization, requiring you to collaborate with COE (centers of excellence) teams, HR Services and local/regional HRBP teams. We are a data-driven company, with critical thinking, metrics driven success measures, a strong focus on execution, and high judgement, being crucial to success in role. The right candidate will be willing to be hands-on and demonstrate the ability to influence business leaders applying the capabilities above.
You will partner with your leaders to help find, grow and keep Earth’s best talent. You will be a champion of Amazon’s culture and values, partnering with your clients to help them build customer-obsessed teams.
The individual in this role must be able to work well with peers in influencing implementation and interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization. You will need business acumen, strong communication and writing skills, ability to influence, strategic thinking, project management skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast paced, environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
•10+ years of relevant Human Resources experience
•Experience managing performance, assessing talent, and coaching leaders, including executive talent
•Experience working with global teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
•Strong analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field or MBA
• Significant experience working with fast-moving, high performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments
• Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple, customer-focused and adaptable to unique and changing business needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills
• Willingness and ability to both be hands on with all levels of the organization as well as serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders
• Experience in working in a matrixed organization
• Project management and execution skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
