Amazon is looking for a driven, strategic, customer-centric business leader with experience owning a high growth business operation, to help grow our Physical Music and Merch business. Music fans consume Physical and Digital Music which are closely intertwined, and this vendor manager will continue to integrate our Physical business into all Amazon Music programs that authentically connect artists and fans on Amazon. This role will be responsible for business development, vendor management, negotiations, forecasting, and launching collections in partnership with marketing and creative teams.
This Vendor Manger will report within the Amazon Physical Music and Merchandising team and will work closely with marketing managers, creative PMs, and external partners to shape the Music category on Amazon and Amazon Music channels. They will own end-to-end relationships and work closely with our Label Relations team as we continue expand our business.
The successful candidate should have experience building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and managing multiple responsibilities within an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. This role will work with labels and strategic vendors. The candidate must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all levels of our partners’ organizations and be comfortable working with creative teams. The candidate must also possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable drawing metrics-based conclusions by leveraging and interpreting data while working with cross-functional teams across strategic, marketing, and operational business issues. The right candidate stays on top of the music industry and competitive trends and can execute at both a strategic and tactical level to drive sales and margin growth while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Manage/grow Amazon Physical Music business, ensuring best-in-class customer experience at launch and new release cycles, high-visibility activations, and across the catalog music collection
• Invent new ways to connect artists and their fans through initiatives and campaigns
• Act as the ‘business owner’ for assigned Labels/Distributors/brands/campaigns, and manage and expand our vinyl of the month club
• Maximize Amazon’s business profitability and selection expansion opportunities
• Manage vendor relationships - manage supplier/partner contracts, manage day-to-day relationships, and negotiate and secure marketing funds
• Identify new approaches for growing our selection, drive marketing initiatives to increase category awareness, and create processes to better manage the performance of the category over the long term
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external teams, while meeting tight deadlines
• Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
• Represent Amazon in meetings with senior industry executives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of with Excel experience
- 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
- Experience with data query tools, such as SQL, in order to complete data deep dives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
