AWS Professional Services is seeking a Practice Manager who has experience working with National Security customers and can lead a team of specialists across a range of disciplines. As a Practice Manager, you will be responsible for building and managing a team of professional services consultants working with customers and partners to architect and implement innovative solutions. You will routinely engage with Director, VP, C-level executives and governing boards. You will be responsible for opportunity capture and driving engagement delivery. You will work closely with partner teams; drive business development initiatives through thought leadership and customer engagement; provide portfolio guidance and oversight; and meet and exceed customer satisfaction targets.

AWS Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects with customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base. We are obsessed about successful outcomes for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered at the right time, and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs. Our professional services team must have the ability and be willing to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Engage customers - collaborate with AWS sales and partner teams to develop strong customer and partner relationships and build a growing business and drive AWS adoption in our Strategic Accounts.
  2. Enable cloud transformation - develop long-term Cloud Strategy with customers, identify & develop specific opportunities and supporting business cases, manage issues and risks.
  3. Support the commercial relationship - plan and implement a portfolio of projects, including budget & deliverable responsibilities, drive proposal construction, including estimations and deal pricing, conduct contract negotiations & execute contracts.
  4. Lead great people - build high-performing teams of consultants with superior technical depth and customer relationship skills.
  5. Be an advocate - work with AWS engineering teams to convey partner and Strategic customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.
  6. Think big - ability to assess customer marketplace circumstances, organizational readiness, and C-level sponsor willingness to initiate conversations that lead to broader strategic transformation programs, construct large, complex multi-month programs which include multiple ProServe engagement services.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science or equivalent experience.
  2. 8+ years of combined relevant enterprise IT delivery experience with US Government customers or industry systems integrators.
  3. 6+ years of relevant program management experience including agreements w/ integrators, ISVs and managed services providers.
  4. 5+ years of hands-on delivery, or leading teams in the implementation of distributed applications.
  5. 5+ years with applications and architectures of national security programs.
  6. 5+ years of direct people management experience.
  7. Ability to travel to client locations in the Washington DC Metropolitan area to deliver professional services as needed.
  8. Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Selling and delivering professional/consulting services engagements to customers.
  2. Understanding of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud computing transition challenges.
  3. Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  4. Experience with cost engineering Cloud environments to ensure Customers operating at the lowest cost per Customer footprint with integrated continuous cost improvement.
  5. Strategic business development experience including complex agreements w/ partners and customers.
  6. Consulting or professional services delivery experience with national security customers and/or partners.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $152,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
